The Hostage musical version of woulda/coulda/shoulda...the Negatives were undeniably the most sonically potent band we'd seen. When this bad was on they simply steamrolled all comers, with a guitturbocharged fury. The Negatives were a real throw back to the old surf and destroy sounds from beach days gone by, they had the whole Adolescents/China White/Slashers approach down....aim straight for the jugular. Like all potent powder kegs, they too were doomed to explode/implode, which they did beyond imagination. But while they were here, they laid down a mass of legendary tunes (3 exclusives found here) and like all good things that die young and fast, will endure on wax forever.
