In punk circles, the epic Red One is considered THE most important hostage release to date...for good reason. The Numbers marked their explosive rise to the beach scene (the first ever beach punk band from Sunset Beach) with a scorching debut, included is the ultra-smash Spit in Your Coffee. Spit went on to become the first Hostage vinyl track to garner decent radio airplay on real radio, and furthermore it marked the debut of the ADAMOPHONIC sound to the Hostage label...this is the first of the bunch to figure out Adamo was the man (we figured it out much later)...red one also featured the genius of Adam Burrows art design in which each record was stamped with red one on the cover with then serially and "painstakingly" number stamped on the record and cover. This made tons of Max rnr top tens and paved the wax for their future greatness. Your record collection, no matter how small, is incomplete without this. |
